TIG / GTAW WELDING
High-yield welding
Developed as military technology in World War II for welding aircraft fuselages, TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding is the highest quality traditional fusion welding and is the most versatile.
It is an arc welding process in which an infusible electrode is used, with or without a filler metal. The electric arc is generated between the tungsten electrode and the element to be welded together with a non-oxidizing shielding gas. Being such a versatile technology, it requires a lot more training and takes more time to master.
Just as in laser welding, TIG welding is possible both with and without wire feed / filler powder.
Esattamente come nella saldatura laser è possibile eseguire saldature con e senza riporto di materiale.
