LASER WELDING
High-quality precision welding
LASER welding is used for all metal-coating needs requiring high quality, precision results, limiting the thermal impact on the base material, avoiding post-welding heat treatments and ensuring a good application even on finished and/or delicate surfaces.
High energy lasers can focus on a very small point, allowing for the welding of materials that are also difficult to join using other methods as well as allowing for the creating of very strong and stable joints, thanks to the possibility of deep-weld penetration.
Soldering types
LASER soldering with filler
LASER welding with filler material is used to modify or create new shapes, rebuild and restore damaged or worn areas, eliminate production defects, join two different metals, create wear-resistant coatings, etc.
ASER soldering without filler (autogenous)
LASER welding without a filler material is used to create joints without excess material or to smooth out areas, corners and edges.
Advantages of Laser Welding
  • Precise heat input allows for precision welding on small, delicate metal parts
  • Minimal or absent HAZ (heat-affected zones)
  • Minimal or no distortion due to lower thermal input
  • High strength welds
  • Non-contact, single-sided welding
  • Fast welding times, better control and accuracy for consistent quality
  • Suitable for deep narrow welds and keyhole welding
  • Suitable for a wide range of materials and thin metal parts
  • Excellent aesthetics
  • High quality results
  • No need for further post-weld heat treatments
Applications
LASER welding meets various needs in the most diverse fields ranging from the production and maintenance of moulds for castings, to repairs in the naval sector, to production and prototyping in the medical sector, and is used for repairs, joints, modifications, maintenance, coatings, aesthetics, etc.
Here are some application examples:
  • Injection point (gate) closure
  • Dental reconstructions - bridges, braces, crowns, etc.
  • Reconstruction of corners and edges
  • Wear-resistant coatings
  • Repair work to mill-grooved, gouged and worn areas
  • Repair of casting porosity
  • Joints (also between different materials)
  • Modification of shapes and geometries
